Does someone mind me leaving?

The Not So Many Faces of Tempi
“Tempi caught my eye first and held it the longest, as he was the first Adem mercenary I’d ever met. Far from being the imposing, hard-eyed killer I’d expected, Tempi was rather nondescript, neither particularly tall nor heavily built. He was fair-skinned with light hair and pale grey eyes. His expression was blank as fresh paper. Strangely blank. Studiously blank.” Pg. 506
“His face flushed a burning red, and a dozen emotions ran wild and undisguised over his face: astonishment, horror, embarrassment, shock, disgust. He got to his feet, turning away and chattering something in Ademic far too quickly for me to follow. He looked for all the world as if I’d just asked him to strip naked and dance for me.” Pg. 541“I was about to respond when Tempi burst out laughing. And he kept laughing; great shaking laughs that left him breathless. Soon I began to laugh as well, partly at Tempi’s display, and partly because I’d always considered it an oddly funny story myself.” Pg. 557“He held out his right hand, thumb and forefinger pinched together. ‘What is this?’ He spread his fingers slightly for me to see. I looked closely, glad to have something to focus my attention on. ‘That’s a tick.’ (…) Oblivious to my scrutiny, Tempi stared at the thing between his fingers. ‘It bites. On me. Bites and stays.’ His expression was blank as always, but his tone was tinged with disgust. His left hand fidgeted.” Pg. 548

Oh I love Tempi ♥

Chopping

“I’m a natural chopper.”

vs.

“Chopping is my hobby.”

Yeah, falling trees by chainsaw and chopping them by axe! I love school!

“Does Anker charge a penny every time you use his stairs?” she asked as I neared the ground.
I stepped down from the rainbarrel and brushed my hands against my trousers. “I come and go at odd hours,” I explained easily as I fell into step behind her. “Am I correct in understanding that you are looking for a gentleman to walk with you tonight?”
A smile curved her lips as she looked sideways at me. “Quite.”
“That is unfortunate,” I sighed. “I’m no gentleman.”
Her smile grew. “I think that you are close enough.”
“I would like to be closer.”
“Then come walking with me.”
“It would please me greatly. However…” I slowed my walk a bit, my smile fading into a more serious expression. “What about Sovoy?”
Her mouth made a line. “He’s staked a claim on me then?”
“Well, not as such. But there are certain protocols involved…”
“A gentleman’s agreement?” she asked acidicly.
“More like honour among the thieves, if you will.”
She looked me in the eye. “Kvothe,” she said seriously.
“Steal me.”
